• Raj Kapoor was allergic to air travel, disliked heights in general, always slept on the floor and usually did not get up before midday.
• Raj Kapoor was always urging Dilip Kumar to get married. When he finally did marry Saira Banu, Raj Kapoor was so thrilled that he danced Punjabi-style with the baraatis! Both Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar hailed from Peshawar and enjoyed ragging each other.
• Raj Kapoor was the youngest of the Dev/ Dilip/ Raj triumvirate.
• He thought he may have been a Buddhist monk in a previous incarnation as a marked leaning towards the spiritual managed to creep into every film he made.
• He was very close to his parents and could never be overawed by them as they were only 16 (mother) and 18 (father) years older than him.
• Each time wife Krishna visited RK Studios, he would proudly show her around, playing the host and treating her like a loved guest.
• Raj Kapoor loved flowers, especially mogras.
• Raj Kapoor liked women to wear white. Nargis always wore white after she became friendly with him.
• Hrishikesh Mukherji wrote his film Anand initially with Raj Kapoor in mind. The two shared a great deal of affection and Raj called Hrishida `Babu moshai’ all his life.
• After Nargis married Sunil Dutt, she met Raj Kapoor at the ladies sangeet party organized for Rishi Kapoor’s wedding. The next year, in 1981, she died of cancer.
