The belle from Gujerat and the beauty from Maharashtra often get together at Filmland parties and invariably a chatty gossip session ensues. As “Filmfare” award-winner Usha Kiron jabs a finger at Nirupa, she seems almost to say, “And that is what I told her, but she just wouldn’t … !” Or perhaps Usha said, “Look, Nirupaben, I’ve worked in Gujerati pictures, and you should act in some Marathi ones!” But, whatever it is that Usha says so animatedly, these two charming young women are never at a loss for subjects to discuss! – August 1955
