Emmy Minwalla
Emmy Minwalla was one of the first non-muslim actresses to make her presence felt in Pakistani film industry. Belonging to Zoroastrian faith, she was introduced as a dancer in M.J. Rana’s Sohni (1955). Her dances were considered as the necessary ingredients of many Pakistani Films. Her best performances as a dancer were in Baji (1963), Dosheeza (1962), Shaheed (1962) and Kaneez (1965). She faded into oblivion in the early 70′s. It is rumored that she was married to famous film director Hassan Tariq.
