Compare this song with Peene Ke Din Aaye in Khazanchi, also by UmraoZia Begum Ji. She was Ghulam Haider Sahab’s wife as you previously mentioned, and also an actress of the 30s (since there was no playback).

I have a 4 cassette set released by HMV titled Vintage Favorites from Films – 1943 – 1948 and you are right… “Gaadiwale dupatta uda jaye re” was sung by Zeenat Begum and Shamshad Begum. But as I mentioned before, I was giving the original song list sender the benefit of doubt. And the source of many of these song lists is Hindi Film Geet Kosh – although a good reference material, it is prone to errrors. Therefore, whenever you or someone else see any errors, please let me know. I will correct it once it is confirmed.

Gaadiwale Dupatta Ud Ud jaye Re is by Shamshad Begum (on Manorama) and Zeenat Begum singing for Ragini as usual. It is clearly not Umrao Zia Begum.
