Iam lucky enough to have the 4 Zeenat Begum songs from Bhaijan, and one Noor Jehan version. Could contribute this with a picture if you want. Thanks a lot for the Aag article because I also thought that it is Meena Kapoor (according to me, in the 40s she sounded a bit Suraiya-ish) when they mentioned Shamshad Begum's name in the radio. However, when someone sends me a song list of particular singer, I don't take the song off the list unless I can confirm that it was NOT sung by that singer. That is especially true for songs of 30s, 40s and 50s. Although "Huwa Kiya Qasoor" was sung by Amirbai Karnataki for Film Soundtrack, there is a possibility that Parul Ghosh sang it for 78 rpm record. There are lots of examples like these.. Panna (1944) - Rajkumari sang for 78 rpm records while Shamshad sang for Film soundtrack, Anokha Pyar (1948) - some of the songs were sung by Lata for 78 rpm and Meena Kapoor for Film Soundtrack, Bhai Jaan (1945) - Noor Jehan for Film Soundtrack and Zeenat Begum for 78 rpm.. There are many other films of 30s, 40s and 50s where film and 78 rpm versions were sung by different singers (Humayun [1945], Shama [1946] etc). And to complicate the things further... sometimes different recording companies used to issue "version records" of popular songs to earn some quick bucks. For example, the song "Takra gaya tumsai dil hie to hai" from Aan (1952) was sung by Rafi and then its version record was released in Hemant Kumar's voice by some other recording company. Here is a related article on this issue :- http://cineplot.com/music/errors-made-by-recording-companies-dekh-chand-ki-or-aag-1948/ I will write more on this issue later... Huwa Kya Qusoor and Balam Dhire Bol are definitely by Amirbai, please listen. I think she sang “Mujhe Waqt – E – Namaaz Yaad Kyon Aayi Teri” in Taqdeerwale, 1948.
