Zubaida Khanum like Geeta Dutt had very limited musical training, but still she became one of the most popular playback singers of the 50s.

I don’t know for sure, but I am assuming Amirbai had some classical training because she also composed the music of Shehnaz (1948).

You can make out by the nasal slightly quality (which enriches Madam's vocie more). Listen to Zubaida Khanum's part on Nighat Sultana in Akeli Kahin Mat Jaana -"Nainon Ki Baan Bhala". You can make out there the missing weighty and more classically trained quality of the voice. Did Zubaida or Amirbai learn classical music? It is definitely NJ, Iam sure.
